Customization is really the key term for how FCSL approaches team building. The first priority is to establish where the particular team is and what type of intervention might be most appropriate. For example:
Is this a new team or a well established one?
Is there new leadership or members?
What team building has been done in the past?
Are there particular circumstances facing the team that need urgent attention before other issues can be addressed?
Does this team presently function effectively?
FCSL uses a wide variety of content pieces and activities for team building depending on what the upfront analysis indicates. As in any other activities FCSL is involved in, it prefers to use as much of a participatory, experiential approach as possible.
One other key tenet of team building interventions for FCSL is to include as much fun and humour as is possible and appropriate under the particular circumstances.
