Course Title: Team Building (1 – 2 days)

Course description: All courses are developed from an adult education/experiential learning perspective i.e. courses are participative and much learning is accomplished through doing. The purpose of the course is to allow team members to improve their relationships with each other and become a more effective unit. This is achieved through working together on both practical and fun activities.

Course learning objectives:

  1. Become more knowledgeable and aware of other team members.
  2. Feel more like a part of the team.
  3. Take the gains from 1. & 2. back to the workplace and improve team output.

Course outline/training methodology: The approach taken to this course is very much a customized one. Significant interviews are held with team leaders/representatives to gain an understanding of where this team is at the present and what might be an applicable approach to follow in the workshop.

Course description: Change is a constant in today’s world. It is anticipated that leaders/managers will be faced with a particularly significant period of change in the foreseeable future . The purpose of the course is to allow to participants increase their preparedness and ability to lead successfully through change and transition. All courses are developed from an adult education/experiential learning perspective i.e. courses are participative and much learning is accomplished through doing.

Course learning objectives:

  1. Become more knowledgeable and capable of dealing with change and transition.
  2. Understand the difference between change and transition.
  3. Encouraging participants to look toward the future with a positive attitude. Change will occur; going through it with a positive approach will be crucial to thriving in the future.

Course outline/training methodology: Content pieces drawing from areas such as Bridges, Emotional Intelligence, MBTI will be delivered to participants followed up with experiential exercises both individual and group to reinforce the content exposure. An adult/experiential learning approach is always used. The activities, timeframes and content will always reflect the pre-planning discussions with the client and can vary significantly.

Course materials: Material costs are expected to minimal for this workshop depending on the depth of level the client wishes to go to with a an area such as Emotional intelligence as an example and whether a 1 or 2 day duration is chosen. These will always be disclosed in any quote given to a perspective client.


Course Title: Basic Facilitation Skills (2 days)

Course description: Participants are exposed to basic process facilitation skills, methods and group behaviour. This knowledge will give them a good perspective on how to work with teams/groups. All courses are developed from an adult education/experiential learning perspective i.e. courses are participative and much learning is accomplished through doing.

Course learning objectives:

  1. Participants will be able to choose the appropriate process for helping a team/group accomplish a specific task.
  2. Apply facilitation techniques for greatest effect
  3. Establish appropriate environment for team/group sessions
  4. Adopt session leading behaviour which is appropriate to the tem/group and task
  5. Coach others in team leading and facilitation.

Course outline/training methodology: The early emphasis of this course is on process facilitation theory and skills. Topics such as the facilitator’s role, setting up for success, group dynamics, good listening and questioning skills, etc. The second part of the workshop introduces a number of fundamental facilitation processes. The methodology is consistent throughout and true to adult learning principles. Participants will be introduced to a learning topic and will then complete experiential exercises to reinforce that learning.

Course materials: Participants are provided a manual for this course with the cost being in the $25 range per participant.


 

Course Title: Advanced Facilitation Skills (2 days)

Course description: This workshop builds/adds on to the knowledge gained in the Basic Facilitation Skills course. Participants should either have taken the Basic Facilitation Skills course as a prerequisite or have significant facilitation experience. The concentration of this course is to expose participants to a number of strategic planning facilitation processes. All courses are developed from an adult education/experiential learning perspective i.e. courses are participative and much learning is accomplished through doing.

Course learning objectives:

  1. Complete a brief review/refresher of basic facilitation skills.
  2. Take participants through a simulated strategic planning process where they learn various process pieces as they go.
  3. Have participants leave with the ability to lead other groups through a strategic planning process.

Course outline/training methodology: The methodology is consistent throughout and true to adult learning principles. Participants will be introduced to a learning topic and will then complete experiential exercises to reinforce that learning.

Course materials: Participants are provided a manual for this course with the cost being in the $25 range per participant.

Course Title: Networking – Increasing Your Networking Comfort Level (.5)

Course description: Effective networking can be a very important tool in career enhancement. At the same time statistics would indicate that the vast majority of individuals are uncomfortable in networking situations. All courses are developed from an adult education/experiential learning perspective i.e. courses are participative and much learning is accomplished through doing.

  1. Give participants a different look/approach to networking.
  2. Increase the networking comfort level of those participating.

Course description: The Myers Briggs Type Indicator has long been recognized as the leading personality type assessment tool. It can be used in a variety of ways: individual assessment, team building, as a part of a hiring process, communications improvement, etc. This tool provides awareness of preferences that allow more productive interaction between those with this knowledge. It is an excellent intervention for a newly formed team; it can provide great information for leaders/managers in more effective interaction with their staff. All courses are developed from an adult education/experiential learning perspective i.e. courses are participative and much learning is accomplished through doing.

Course learning objectives:

  1. Make participants knowledgeable of Myers Briggs theory.
  2. Gain individual awareness of your type and your natural preferences.
  3. In a group setting, become aware of the types of those you interact with to allow more productive work relationships.

Course description: Why are some people more successful than others? This is one of the key questions that have driven the development of Emotional Intelligence 'EI'. Contemporary theory has certainly gone the route of realizing that it is the soft skills, not the hard ones that make the difference in the success of an individual, team or organization. A key milestone in this area has been the creation of effective tools in measuring the emotional intelligence of individuals, teams and organizations. All courses are developed from an adult education/experiential learning perspective i.e. courses are participative and much learning is accomplished through doing.

Course learning objectives:

  1. Make participants knowledgeable of Emotional Intelligence theory.
  2. Gain individual awareness of your "EI" strengths and areas for growth..
  3. Look toward the future with a plan for growth.

Course outline/training methodology: There are a number of options available e.g. individual assessment and feedback and group workshops. Does the client wish to have assessments completed or simply learn of the theory? Does the client wish to have individual feedback sessions scheduled (recommended)? The option chosen will affect the total investment in the training. Prospective clients should ask for a specific quote depending on the option they wish to pursue.
